If you own a Visa card, before you head out on your next shopping trip, or book your next vacation, check the visaperks.ca website. There are some great savings to be had with coupon vouchers for in-store use and coupon codes for online shopping. Some good deal examples we found include; $50 off each nights stay at participating Fairmont hotels, Canadian Family 1 year subscription for only $10 (70% savings), $10 off $50 at Gap stores, and buy one, get one FREE waffle cones at Baskin Robins. Definitely worth a quick search of their site for these savings!

VIA Rail has some amazing last minute deals right now with up to 75% off select routes across Canada (Vancouver to Jasper for $59, reg $239) and kids travel for just $10 (until September 10th, 2010). There are taxes and fees as with any travel but these prices are fabulous and could make for a fun trip back to college or a great last minute family getaway. They've got lots of last minute deals and a special on right now with up to 40% off for Labour Day weekend travel. West Jet has a seat sale on with 50% off select US destinations, for travel on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays until October 31st, 2010. The sale is on for the next 48 hours, til June 2nd, 2010. The sale price might not work for your flight both ways but you can mix and match rates so your way down or home could be a great deal.

As Summer vacations are going to be upon us soon, and many lucky folks will be jumping on a plane for some wonderful getaway (we hope your visit back home is considered wonderful!), we thought it would be a good time to post about parking at the airport. If you plan on parking in the extended / long-term lots, do not head off without a quick search for coupons online. Park N' Fly often has specials and your own airport authority lots likely do to. For example, here's a coupon for 29 cent per hour parking at the YVR long term lot (works out to $49.95 / week) and it's good 'til September 8th, 2010. It's a simple search and could save you lots.
